Vacuuming out all dirt/lint that is present in the burner area is very important for fire prevention. Also removing all the rust particles that might have fallen from the flue baffle on the burner is important for fire prevention. The rust particles could clog up the gas ports on the burner, causing the flame to dance around and not go straight up the flue.
