The condenser coil is where the freon changes state, from a vapor to a gas. The condenser coil is located in the condenser unit which is located outside. The coil is on the outside of the condender unit. The condenser coil is designed with aluminum fins, which help to release the heat by giving the coil more surface area.
The condenser unit has alummuin fins that release the heat that the coil is designed to release. You can think of the condensing coil as a sponge being rung out of water, the water being the heat from the home that was absorbed.
